Sozialpartnerschaft und makroökonomische Performance

Abstract

Die Wirkung grundlegender ökonomischer und politischer Institutionen auf verschiedene Aspekte der gesamtwirtschaftlichen Performance findet seit Jahrzehnten wirtschafts- und sozialwissenschaftliches Forschungsinteresse. Eine zentrale Fragestellung ist, ob und wieweit ein Zusammenhang zwischen "sozialpartnerschaftlicher Intensität" von Lohnverhandlungssystemen und wichtigen makropolitischen Zielvariablen wie Wirtschaftswachstum, Arbeitslosigkeit, Beschäftigung und Einkommensverteilung besteht. Wie die Analyse eines Samples von 16 europäischen Ländern im Zeitraum 1990/2012 zeigt, weisen Volkswirtschaften mit hoher sozialpartnerschaftlicher Intensität eine überdurchschnittliche makroökonomische Performance auf. Dies gilt auch für die Zeit seit dem Ausbruch der Finanzmarkt- und Wirtschaftskrise.
