Choix de formation et critères d'efficacité du travail : adaptabilité et financement de la formation générale par l'entreprise

Abstract

[eng] The purpose of this paper is to study training decisions by the firms when workers have to face hazards and to solve problems and when enhancing general training is viewed as a means to reduce the adaptation cost of workers experienced different specific new situations. The paper examines how the equilibrium is modified if wage varies according to seniority and if the adaptation cost is reduced by experience.. In such an approach, general training development, due to accelerated changes in pro­ducts, markets and techniques, becomes a primary challenge for the firms. Conditions under which general training is sponsored by the firm are discussed. From this point of view, a comparison with the Human Capital Theory principles appears interesting. [fre] L'objet de cet article est l'étude des choix de formation de l'entreprise lorsque le travail est conceptualisé comme affrontement d'aléas et activité résolutoire de problèmes et lorsque le développement de la formation générale est vu comme le moyen de réduire le coût d'adaptation du salarié à des situations spécifiques changeantes. On examine aussi comment se modifie l'équilibre lorsque le salaire varie avec l'ancienneté dans l'entreprise et lorsque le coût d'adaptation se réduit sous l'effet de l'expérience.. Dans cette perspective, le développement de la formation générale, impulsé par le changement accéléré des produits et des techniques, devient pour les entreprises un enjeu essentiel. On analyse à quelles conditions les firmes ont inté­rêt à en assurer le financement. Une confrontation avec les propositions de la Théorie du Capital Humain apparaît de ce point de vue intéressante.
