Folgekosten ausbleibenden Lernens: Was wir über die Corona-bedingten Schulschließungen aus der Forschung lernen können

Abstract

Wie werden sich die mehrmonatigen Schließungen der Schulen aufgrund der Corona-Pandemie auf die zukünftige Entwicklung der betroffenen Kinder und Jugendlichen auswirken? Geht etwa ein Drittel eines Schuljahres an Lernen verloren, so geht dies über das gesamte Berufsleben gerechnet im Durchschnitt mit rund 3–4% geringerem Erwerbseinkommen einher. Darüber hinaus schmälern ausbleibender Schulunterricht die Kompetenzentwicklung und den zukünftigen Arbeitsmarkterfolg. Deshalb muss die Bildungspolitik alles daransetzen, dass alle Kinder und Jugendlichen – mit oder ohne Präsenz in der Schule – umgehend wieder lernen.
