Abstract

Cet article se propose d'évaluer économétriquement l'impact des restructurations industrielles sur la mobilité intergénérationnelle de capital humain. Dans cette optique, nous utilisons les données de l'enquête Formation et Qualification Professionnelle (INSEE ; 1993 et 2003) et du recensement de la population (INSEE ; 1946-1999). Nous estimons une fonction de production de capital humain en envisageant deux modèles économétriques complémentaires. Nous montrons que les restructurations industrielles ont un impact négatif sur l'accumulation de capital humain des enfants d'ouvrier. Ainsi, une augmentation d'un point de pourcentage de notre indicateur de restructuration entraîne une diminution de l'ordre de 0,14% de la durée de scolarité, et à un accroissement de la probabilité d'avoir un diplôme de bas niveau de 0,27 à 0,43%
