Exploring the Growth and Future Research Direction of Entrepreneurial Self-efficacy in Entrepreneurial Intention Research: a Bibliometric Analysis

Entrepreneurial self-efficacy (ESE) is a crucial factor differentiating entrepreneurs from ordinary individuals. It primarily impacts entrepreneurs’ career choices and helps them sustain their firms. Researchers worldwide have emphasized entrepreneurial self-efficacy (ESE) to boost entrepreneurs by creating entrepreneurial intention. The current study intends to analyze recent research on the association between entrepreneurial self-efficacy (ESE) and entrepreneurial intention (EI) to explore the growth of the subject and, using bibliometric analysis, recommend possible research avenues for the future. The R package biblioshiny examines the data once taken from the Scopus database. Different data analysis technique of bibliometric was used. Our study has shown that researchers have investigated the association between entrepreneurial self-efficacy and the aspiration to become entrepreneurs. The study incorporates theories on career development and entrepreneurship. To better understand the relationship, consider entrepreneurial orientation and social cognitive career theory (SCCT). Researchers can explore the impact of individual, cultural, environmental, and institutional factors on the connection between entrepreneurial self-efficacy and intention. This study provides a roadmap for future research on entrepreneurial self-confidence, helpful for aspiring researchers.
