Strategische Corporate Social Responsibility. Konzeptionelle Entwicklung und Implementierung in der Praxis am Beispiel 'dm-drogerie markt'

Abstract

Der Begriff der gesellschaftlichen Verantwortung von Unternehmen, auch Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), genannt hat sich seit seiner frühen Konzeptionalisierung durch die Managementtheorie zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts zu einem umfassenden Leitgedanken für die Wirtschaft, Politik und Wissenschaft entwickelt. In einer historischen Betrachtung zeigt der vorliegende Beitrag auf, wie sich die CSR von ihren Anfängen in den Managementtheorien von BARNARD und BOWEN bis zum heutigen Begriffsverständnis entwickelt hat. Hierbei wird deutlich, dass die soziale Verantwortung zunächst dem einzelnen Unternehmer bzw. Vorstandsvorsitzenden zugerechnet wurde. Erst im Laufe der Zeit entwickelte sich die CSR zu einem umfassenden Konzept für das gesamte Unternehmen. In einer weiteren Präzisierung des Begriffes systematisiert der Beitrag die heute existierende Vielfalt an unterschiedlichen Formen der CSR sowie inhaltlich verwandte Begriffe anhand der Dimensionen 'Verhalten des Unternehmens' und 'Integration in das Geschäftsmodell' und geht hierbei insbesondere auf die Bedeutung einer strategischen Ausrichtung des CSR-Ansatzes für das Unternehmen ein. Es wird deutlich, dass eine erfolgreiche Implementierung der CSR-Aktivitäten im Unternehmen nur gelingen kann, wenn diese einen direkten Bezug zur Wertkette und Umwelt des Unternehmens aufweisen. Hierbei ist es wichtig, dass CSR-Aktivitäten bezüglich ihrer Wirkung neben der traditionellen Inside-Out-Perspektive auch aus einer Outside-In-Perspektive heraus analysiert werden. Die Anwendung dieses Bezugsrahmens zur strategischen CSR-Implementierung wird im Anschluss an die konzeptionelle Darstellung am Praxisbeispiel des Drogeriehändlers dm-drogerie markt erläutert. Dabei wird deutlich, dass ein entscheidender Faktor für eine erfolgreiche Umsetzung das eigene Commitment des Unternehmers bzw. des Top-Managements ist.
