La utilización de precios implícitos o de pseudo precios implícitos en la estimación de un sistema de demandas QUAIDS para alimentos

Abstract

El objetivo del trabajo es comparar las estimaciones de un sistema de demanda de alimentos QUAIDS obtenidas empleando dos conjuntos de precios alternativos e información de corte transversal. Se estiman los valores unitarios o precios implícitos ajustados por calidad y los pseudo precios implícitos. La metodología para el cálculo de estos últimos emplea información de gastos de los hogares, sin datos de cantidades. Los resultados muestran diferencias en las magnitudes y signos de los parámetros estimados por el sistema bajo ambas propuestas. Las elasticidades precio, propias y cruzadas, obtenidas con los precios ajustados por calidad arrojan valores más parecidos a los esperables en el caso de alimentos. La diferencia en términos de elasticidades gasto es bastante menor.
