Observer les circuits courts à l’échelle d’un territoire : proposition d’un modèle d’analyse spatiale des données, en termes de systèmes d’information géographique

Abstract

Notre contribution est issue de recherches conduites dans le cadre d’un programme interrégional PSDR1 (Liproco- Liens Producteurs – Consommateurs) portant sur « les démarches de valorisation des produits alimentaires et activités connexes fondées sur les proximités producteurs – consommateurs. ». Soulignant l’intérêt croissant tant des consommateurs qui s’interrogent sur leurs modes de consommation, que des acteurs qui en saisissent les enjeux pour leur territoire, nos travaux portent notamment sur les articulations existant entre les circuits courts et les problématiques de développement territorial. L’analyse cartographique multiscalaire constitue à notre sens un outil précieux permettant de relier et d’analyser les dynamiques de localisation des circuits courts et les contextes territoriaux étudiés. Notre communication porte donc sur la capacité et l’intérêt d’utilisation des systèmes d’information géographiques dans l’observation des démarches en circuits courts à l’échelle d’un territoire. Notre objectif consiste en particulier à développer l’itinéraire méthodologique visant à montrer la construction d’un outil d’analyse dont la complexité de mise en oeuvre repose sur plusieurs points. Tout d’abord la grande diversité des démarches en circuit court pose la question de la formalisation et de l’analyse de l’objet d’étude. Aussi le diagnostic territorial de notre zone d’étude a révélé l’absence de données organisées sur les démarches existantes, ce qui a nécessité une réflexion méthodologique poussée sur le choix et la structuration des données ainsi que sur leur représentation géographique. L’enjeu et l’intérêt d’une application en termes de systèmes d’information géographique sur notre thématique portent sur sa capacité à mettre en corrélation les dynamiques territoriales et le développement des circuits courts alimentaires au travers des données disponibles. Afin de mieux appréhender ce qu’il est possible de réaliser avec cet outil et la démarche mise en oeuvre, nous proposons une étude de cas à travers l’exemple de la région Bretagne, l’objectif étant d’exposer des exemples significatifs de l’intérêt et des limites de l’outil.
