Abstract

Due to the rising awareness about the environment and intense competition, more and more firms have started to promote sustainable performance to survive in the market. The increasing trends in environmental green practices have become vital and effective among non-profit organizations, practitioners, researchers, and industrialists. The study aims to extend strategic orientation to the green strategic orientation (GSO) and to investigate the complementary effect of green entrepreneur orientation (GEO), green market orientation (GMO), green human capital (GHC) and green information technology (GIT) on the sustainable supply chain performance of the firm by taking into consideration the role of green talent management (GTM). The results show that GTM is influenced by the GSO. Also, the moderating effect of transformational leadership (TL) between GSO and green soft TM is significant indicating that TL can strengthen this relationship but the moderating effect of TL between GSO and green hard TM was not significant. The mediating effect of GTM between GSO and sustainable supply chain performance was also significant. The research discussion reveals various practical implications for managers and policymakers to promote sustainability and green practices guidelines for SME firms. The strategic allocation of resources and the adoption of green strategies to improve sustainable supply chain performance can lead the firms toward growth and restructuring.
