E-mail: ssavelieva@hse.ru Анализируется связь вовлеченности школьников во внеклассное образование с их успеваемостью и оценкой собственных способностей к математике, гуманитарным предметам и спорту. Исследование основано на результатах анкетирования более 5 тыс. учащихся 9‑х классов школ Санкт-Петербурга, Ленинградской области и Пскова. С помощью методов дескриптивной статистики и регрессионного анализа было установлено, что участие в любых кружках положительно связано с академической успеваемостью и наиболее сильно связаны со школьными успехами занятия иностранными языками. Не обнаружено гендерных различий в связи внеклассной активности со школьными успехами и самооценкой, даже занятия спортом одинаковым образом влияют на самооценку у мальчиков и девочек. Неструктурированные занятия любой внеклассной деятельностью также положительно связаны с успеваемостью школьников, хотя и слабее, чем структурированные. Сила связи между внеклассной деятельностью и успехами в учебе зависит от размера города, в котором живут учащиеся: в средних и малых городах она больше, чем в мегаполисе. Наиболее полезным с точки зрения академической успеваемости является одновременное посещение двух или трех кружков разной направленности, совмещаемое с неструктурированной внеклассной деятельностью. Занятия в кружках также дают школьникам уверенность в своих силах в соответствующих предметных областях.
