Abstract

Based on competition at market and suppliers levels, companies owned by a distribution group follow a cooperation strategy on the logistics operations. The concept of relational strategy is helpful to describe and analyze the coordination structure set up by the observed companies. The purpose of this paper is to provide a better understanding of the relational structure. It analyzes the performance of such a structure. We show that performance can be analyzed at an individual level and at a collective level. Whatever the level, this structure gives greater place to short term performance to the detriment of long-term performance.
