La visión de los economistas agrarios frente al consumo de productos diferenciados

Abstract

La oferta de productos de calidad diferenciada requiere incorporar en la producción diferentes tecnologías e insumos y por lo tanto incurrir en diferentes costos de producción que incluyen costos adicionales de control de procesos, inspección, costos de comercialización, certificación. Implica no sólo producir cantidades sino "atributos de calidad". Analizado este tema desde el lado de la demanda, la simple hipótesis que se sostiene es que un incremento en los niveles de ingreso de los consumidores aumenta la demanda por productos de alta calidad y una creciente disposición a pagar por estos productos.
