Abstract

On 16 September 2020 the 40th anniversary of the death of Jean Piaget (1896-1980) will be celebrated. This contribution pays tribute to the epistemologist, biologist and psychologist, to his systemic analysis, to his hierarchical classification of the different levels of regulation as an original source of inspiration for my own work in cliometrics of growth and economic cycles.
