¿Cómo reducir la Jornada Laboral?

Abstract

Este artículo analiza la jornada laboral en España, comparándola con otros países de la OCDE. Muestra que se ha producido una disminución en las horas habituales de trabajo en las últimas décadas, aunque la jornada máxima legal se mantiene en 40 horas semanales desde 1983. La negociación colectiva se destaca como clave para adaptar y flexibilizar la jornada laboral, permitiendo reducciones efectivas en diversos sectores y equilibrando la eficiencia productiva con la calidad de vida de los trabajadores. El artículo también evalúa las propuestas actuales para reducir la jornada máxima legal y sus posibles efectos económicos y sociales, sugiriendo que una reducción negociada a través del Diálogo Social implementada a través de la negociación colectiva por sectores y empresas es más beneficiosa que una imposición legislativa, promoviendo ajustes específicos que reflejen las necesidades sectoriales y capacidades productivas, y asegurando mejoras sostenibles en las condiciones laborales.
