Ökonomische Bedeutung der Kulturwirtschaft und ihre Betroffenheit in der COVID-19-Krise

Abstract

Nach dem Ausbruch der COVID-19-Pandemie und der raschen Ausbreitung von Infektionen wurden aus gesundheitspolitischen Gründen erhebliche Einschränkungen beschlossen, die die Kulturwirtschaft in Österreich sehr beeinträchtigen. Die Studie quantifiziert den Beitrag des erweiterten Kultursektors zum österreichischen Bruttoinlandsprodukt auf etwas unter 3%. Die direkten und indirekten Wertschöpfungseffekte des Kultursektors werden auf rund 9,8 Mrd. € geschätzt, er lastet dabei rund 150.000 unselbständig und selbständig Beschäftigte aus. Die ökonomischen Schäden im Zusammenhang mit der COVID-19-Krise werden auf 1,5 bis 2 Mrd. € geschätzt und verteilen sich in unterschiedlichem Ausmaß auf die Teilsektoren des Kulturbereiches.
