Wenn Reisende zur Belastung werden. Eine ökonomische Einordnung des Phänomens Übertourismus und der tourismuspolitischen Optionen zu seiner Bekämpfung

Abstract

Das weltweit hohe Wachstum der Nachfrage nach Urlaubsreisen hat in vielen attraktiven Destinationen, vor allem Städten, eine Überkonzentration der Touristenströme zur Folge, die unter dem Begriff des Übertourismus diskutiert wird. Darunter leidet vielfach die Bevölkerung dieser Urlaubsorte, die mit steigenden Mieten, Beeinträchtigungen im Alltag und Umweltverschmutzung konfrontiert ist. Gegenmaßnahmen der Politik setzen bei Regulierungen, Preisinstrumenten, Investitionen und neuen Informationstechnologien an, wobei letztlich auch ein Überdenken der oft bedingungslosen Wachstumsorientierung erforderlich sein wird.
