Was beeinflusst die Weiterbildungsbereitschaft von Beschäftigten? Befunde aus einer Vignettenstudie
[What Drives Employees' Motivation to Participate in Further Training? Results from a Factorial Survey]

Abstract

Berufliche Weiterbildung kann Beschäftigte dabei unterstützen, sich den wandelnden Anforderungen des Arbeitsmarktes anzupassen. Dies erfordert nicht nur, dass passende Weiterbildungsangebote zu Verfügung stehen und Betriebe ihren Beschäftigten eine Teilnahme ermöglichen. Beschäftigte müssen darüber hinaus auch bereit sein, sich weiterzubilden. Diese Studie untersucht mithilfe eines faktoriellen Surveys, wie die Ausgestaltungsmerkmale beruflicher Weiterbildung die selbsteingeschätzte Teilnahmewahrscheinlichkeit von Beschäftigten beeinflussen. Im Ergebnis schätzen Beschäftigte ihre Teilnahme als wahrscheinlicher ein, wenn die Weiterbildung vollständig auf die Arbeitszeit angerechnet wird, wenn der Arbeitgeber die Weiterbildungskosten komplett übernimmt, und wenn sich die Weiterbildung für den Arbeitnehmer oder die Arbeitnehmerin finanziell auszahlt. Längere Pendelzeiten zur Weiterbildungsstätte wirken sich hingegen negativ auf die wahrgenommene Teilnahmewahrscheinlichkeit aus. Insgesamt geben die Ergebnisse Hinweise darauf, wie sich die Weiterbildungsbereitschaft von Beschäftigten positiv oder negativ beeinflussen lässt. Besonders wichtig ist dies für Personengruppen, die bisher vergleichsweise wenig an beruflicher Weiterbildung teilnehmen.
