Teilzeitarbeit für alle? Eine Untersuchung von Teilzeitpräferenzen in Deutschland und Großbritannien unter beschäftigungspolitischen Gesichtspunkten

Abstract

Eine Verkürzung der Arbeitszeit oder die Ausdehnung von Teilzeitarbeit werden auf der nationalstaatlichen wie auf europäischer Ebene von Politik und Wissenschaft als eine beschäftigungspolitische Strategie empfohlen. Es ist jedoch zu beobachten, daß sich Teilzeitarbeit nach stärkeren Zuwächsen in den 70er und 80er Jahren, seit Beginn der 90er Jahre nur noch sehr zögerlich entwickelt. Zudem konzentriert sich Teilzeitarbeit in den EU-Ländern in bestimmten Sektoren und Berufsgruppen. Und schließlich: Nach wie vor ist Teilzeitarbeit Frauenarbeit.
