[Evaluation of Charismatic Leadership from Management Perspective]

Abstract

In this study, the concept of motivation, which is one of the biggest elements in achieving the objectives of organizations and the relationship of motivation with the types of leadership is emphasized. The literature on leadership supports the fact that charismatic leadership, which was popular in 1960’s and 70’s, has been defined differently at different stages, its effects on workers and its being an element for high performance. Even though the impact of the leadership behavior on the followers changes from the society to society, the methods by which charismatic leaders affect their followers and how they determine their objectives, the concept of vision and the structural framework within which charismatic leaders pursue when they determine their visions. The power supply of the charismatic leaders and how they strengthen the motivation of the organization by qualitative powers are investigated in three titles. The relationship between the characteristics such as the consideration of the needs of members, establishing control on crisis situations, being extraordinary, ability of taking risks, standing against status quo and charismatic leadership approach and organizational motivation is emphasized.
