Abstract

"This research paper focuses on the strategies of job centres to achieve a sustainable labour market integration of long-term unemployed. It raises questions how job centres assess the chances of long-term unemployed in the means-tested benefit system to enter the labour market, how support of long-term unemployed takes place and which specific integration strategies different job centres employ. In order to answer these questions, the authors rely on qualitative interviews in six job centres. The study identifies strategies for different types of long-term unemployed. An important distinction is drawn between long-term unemployed with different levels of employability." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
