Abstract

La problématique du contrôle des réseaux de franchise est dégagée, prenant en compte la nature spécifique de ce type de réseau, les motivations et les comportements du franchiseur et des franchisés et les différentes dimensions du contrôle mis en oeuvre. Une analyse du contrôle au sein des réseaux de franchise est développée mettant en évidence ses diverses modalités et leur évolution au cours du temps. Une recherche exploratoire, fondée sur des entretiens, est effectuée auprès d'une dizaine de franchisés et franchiseurs. Les résultats semblent conforter la représentation proposée. Des propositions relatives aux leviers du contrôle des réseaux de franchise (contrôle de conformité des opérations, contrôle de gestion centré sur l'efficacité de l'exploitation et contrôle social) sont alors énoncées et un modèle global est développé avec plusieurs phases sur la durée du cycle de vie de la relation franchiseur-franchisé (avant le début de l'exploitation, au début des opérations, en phase de stabilisation de l'exploitation, au moment du renouvellement du contrat de franchise et après).
