Le bore-out : quand ennui et épuisement professionnel vont " de pair ". une compréhension en profondeur d'un phénomène en gestation

Abstract

Le travail est considéré comme un besoin vital et une nécessité à laquelle on ne peut échapper. Néanmoins, durant ces dernières décennies, de nombreuses mutations industrielles, technologiques, économiques ou sociales ont considérablement bouleversé le rapport de l'individu avec son propre travail. Le travail revêt, dès lors, un caractère ambigu. Il est certes fondamental et bénéfique pour les individus, mais peut devenir pénible et constituer une source de mal-être psychologique. Récemment un nouveau trouble a vu le jour : celui du bore-out appelé aussi le syndrome de l'épuisement professionnel par l'ennui. En effet, lorsque l'ennui au travail devient permanent, il peut devenir pathologique et conduire au bore-out. Des entretiens en profondeur auprès de seize informants travaillant dans le secteur public mais également dans le secteur privé nous ont permis de mettre en évidence les causes organisationnelles à l'origine de ce syndrome.
