Abstract

La preuve de concept est une méthode d'expérimentation qui a été créée à la NASA dans les années 1960 pour gérer les inconnus organisationnels et techniques d'un « grand challenge » particulier : envoyer des hommes sur la Lune avant la fin de la décennie. Dans quelles mesures la preuve de concept peut aujourd'hui jouer un rôle dans les grands enjeux contemporains ? Autrement dit, en quoi les caractéristiques des preuves de concept peuvent être mises au service des enjeux qui ont trait à « soigner le monde » ? Ne pourraient-elles pas aider à rendre concret, opérationnel un tel projet de société visant à améliorer l'habitabilité du monde (Tronto, 2009) ? Ne pourraient-elles pas être des preuves par l'exemple que « la transition vers un monde durable, plus sobre, plus solidaire, plus juste et plus équitable, n'est pas un sacrifice, mais profondément désirable » (Robin, 2016) ? Les superpouvoirs des preuves de concept ne tiennent-ils pas dans leur capacité à requestionner des a priori, proposer de nouveaux imaginaires, révéler des capacités ou encore inspirer d'autres qui souhaitent s'engager ? Pour nous intéresser à ces questions, nous mobiliserons des travaux menés au sein de la Chaire de philosophie à l'hôpital du GHU Paris Psychiatrie et neurosciences ainsi que les travaux de la Chaire théorie et méthodes de la conception innovante et le Chaire théorie de l'entreprise de Mines Paris – PSL. Nous nous appuierons plus particulièrement sur les travaux réalisés par Timothée Boisseau, étudiant de l'option ingénierie de la conception de Mines Paris, dans le cadre de son stage de fin d'études.
