Internationalisierungsstrategien von Dienstleistungsunternehmen am Standort Wien. Eine Individualdatenuntersuchung

Abstract

Die besondere Lage Wiens bietet auch Dienstleistungsunternehmen mit beschränktem Marktradius die Möglichkeit zur Nutzung dynamischer Absatzmärkte in den neuen EU-Ländern. Dies gilt insbesondere für wissensintensive Dienstleistungsunternehmen, über deren Internationalisierung bisher kaum empirische Untersuchungen vorliegen. Die Studie bietet daher erstmals auf Individualdatenebene empirische Evidenz zu den internationalen Aktivitäten von Wiener Dienstleistungsunternehmen mit beschränktem Marktradius, die Dienstleistungen auch über die Entsendung von Arbeitskräften erbringen können. Eine – im Vergleich mit Betrieben aus anderen grenznahen Regionen – höhere Internationalisierungsneigung der Wiener Unternehmen kann zwar durch Unterschiede in der Unternehmens- und Branchenstruktur erklärt werden, Wiener Unternehmen in den untersuchten Sektoren sind jedoch häufiger in den neuen EU-Ländern tätig und nutzen den Standort Wien häufiger als Drehscheibe für den Handel mit West- und Osteuropa. Zudem besteht in Wien ein signifikantes Potential an internationalisierungswilligen Dienstleistungsunternehmen. Diese meist wissensintensiven Kleinst- und Kleinbetriebe können als Adressatengruppe für wirtschaftspolitische Maßnahmen identifiziert werden.
