Dimensión regional de las desigualdades en Colombia

Abstract

"Además de las enormes disparidades regionales, Colombia tiene una de las peores distribuciones del ingreso per cápita en el mundo. Con estas formas de desigualdad coexisten las desventajas económicas de las minorías étnicas y de las mujeres. Las particularidades de los migrantes y la movilidad intergeneracional también son temas que están estrechamente relacionados con la desigualdad y, como los anteriores, se han estudiado en el agregado nacional, pero han recibido relativamente poca atención desde el punto de vista regional. El objetivo de este libro es llenar dicho vacío en la literatura, recopilando estudios que, desde una perspectiva regional, abordan un espectro amplio de desigualdades. A partir de un análisis empírico que aprovecha con rigor y creatividad la información de las encuestas de hogares, el lector podrá entender mejor las disparidades, así como identificar sus principales determinantes. También, podrá comprender algunas de las relaciones que hay entre los distintos tipos de desigualdad; por ejemplo, la importancia de la desigualdad regional en la disparidad del ingreso per cápita, o el papel de las migraciones en la desigualdad regional."
