Konjunkturzyklen der österreichischen Wirtschaft

Abstract

Das um Saison- und Arbeitstagseffekte bereinigte Bruttoinlandsprodukt ging im III. und IV. Quartal 2001 zurück. Gelegentlich wird im ökonomischen Sprachgebrauch eine solche Periode negativer Veränderungsraten in zwei aufeinanderfolgenden Quartalen als Rezession bezeichnet. Diese mechanistische Interpretation entspricht nicht der Konjunkturdefinition im "klassischen" Sinn, die auf die gesamtwirtschaftliche Kapazitätsauslastung abstellt. Eine Datierung der Rezessionen in Österreich seit 1954 gemäß dieser Regel kommt zu unterschiedlichen Ergebnissen, wenn sich die Bereinigung nur auf die Saison- und Arbeitstagseffekte oder auch auf eine verbleibende irreguläre Restkomponente erstreckt.
