Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die vorliegende Studie untersucht vor dem Hintergrund der einschlägigen Führungsliteratur um zugeschriebene Persönlichkeitseigenschaften von Führungskräften, inwiefern Spitzenmanager ein untereinander homogenes Persönlichkeitsprofil besitzen. Dazu werden die Persönlichkeiten der DA X 30 Vorstandsvorsitzenden auf Basis des NEO-Fünf-Faktoren-Inventars analysiert. Die Analyse wurde mittels 280 Fremdeinschätzungen Dritter zu anonymisierten Steckbriefen der Vorstandsvorsitzenden durchgeführt, wobei für einen verzerrenden Halo-Effekt durch die Fremdeinschätzungen kontrolliert wurde. Es zeichnet sich unter den Spitzenführungskräften ein dominantes Profil ab, welches sich signifikant vom durchschnittlichen Profil der Vergleichsgruppe (männliche Bevölkerung über 50 Jahren) unterscheidet. Implikationen für Wissenschaft und Praxis werden diskutiert.
