Abstract

La régulation de la médecine libérale en France depuis la fin du xviiie siècle est analysée dans le cadre des transformations qui affectent le capitalisme, à travers les conflits et les compromis qui se succèdent entre les acteurs du système de santé. Un accent particulier est mis sur les politiques d’incitations introduites dans la lignée du New Public Management à partir des années 1980. Ces politiques qui portent initialement sur la demande (par les prix et les co-paiements) sont supplantées, dans les années 1990, par des politiques qui portent sur l’offre (par des standards de qualité et la rémunération à la performance).
