Abstract

[eng] Factors of absenteeism - Salaried employees are away from work more often when they are less skilled, when they have little seniority, when they work in a large company. The LOGIT model has offered the possibility of verifying that each of these factors has its own specific effect. The most surprising result is that salaried employees who are not well compensated in case of absence and those paid according to output are the most frequently absent. This is, no doubt, the result of their more difficult working conditions. But the survey employed furnishes no data which would permit this hypothesis to be tested.
