Abstract

CO2 sequestration is an effective technology for reducing greenhouse gas effect. To ensure the safety, assessment of well applicability should be conducted before CO2 sequestration. However, current studies mainly focus on identifying which barrier has the highest risk of leakage rather than selecting a target well for injection in specific geological formation. To further investigate, this paper proposes well applicability assessment method combining reservoir and wellbore properties together for CO2 sequestration.
