On gauge invariance, dissipative quantum mechanics and self-adjoint sets

Abstract

The prolongation method which combines a dissipative and a flutter system to a conservative one is reconsidered in connection with ‘t Hooft’s recent proposal regarding a dissipative quantum mechanics.
