Algunos determinantes de la satisfacción laboral en Colombia

Abstract

El presente documento busca identificar algunos de los factores demográficos y de las características extrínsecas al trabajo que están relacionados con la satisfacción laboral en Colombia. Para esto, se usan dos modelos econométricos no lineales, un Probit Binario y un Probit Ordenado, con los que, a partir de una muestra de 6.641 observaciones obtenidas de la Gran Encuesta Integrada de Hogares de 2010, se encuentra que, respecto a la edad, la satisfacción laboral presenta comportamiento en forma U; el salario y la contratación escrita y directa se asocian positivamente a la satisfacción laboral y el nivel educativo; y el número de horas trabajadas y el trabajo en lugares descubiertos se asocian negativamente. Asimismo, los asalariados públicos reportan mayor satisfacción que los trabajadores de otro tipo de posición ocupacional (como los cuenta propia, empleados de empresa privada, jornalero o peón) y los empleadores están asociados negativamente con la satisfacción laboral.
