Análisis del embarazo y la maternidad durante la adolescencia: diferencias socioeconómicas

Abstract

Las adolescentes más pobres son especialmente vulnerables y propensas aempezar su vida sexual y tener hijos en la adolescencia, dadas sus característicasindividuales, el contexto en el que viven y las posibilidades futurasque perciben. Pese a que las estrategias y políticas orientadas a disminuir laprevalencia del embarazo en jóvenes menores de 19 anos deberían contribuira reducir la vulnerabilidad de los grupos más pobres, solo han tenido algúnefecto en las adolescentes de nivel socioeconómico más alto. Las intervencionesfuturas no solo deberían diferenciar por condición socioeconómica, sinotambién tener en cuenta el punto de la vida sexual y reproductiva en que seencuentra la adolescente.
