Konjunkturtest im Fokus: Die Beurteilung der Lagerbestände im Handelsgewerbe

Abstract

Zur Erhebung der Lagerentwicklung bittet das ifo Institut im Rahmen des ifo Konjunkturtests die Umfrageteilnehmer aus dem Handelsbereich jeden Monat darum, ihre Lagerbestände als »zu klein«, »befriedigend (saisonüblich)« oder »zu groß« einzustufen. Der vorliegende Artikel beschreibt die unterschiedlichen Bewertungsmuster in den einzelnen Handelssparten und analysiert den Zusammenhang der Lagerentwicklung mit dem aktuellen Geschäftsverlauf und anderen Variablen aus dem ifo Konjunkturtest. Insgesamt deuten die aktuellen Ergebnisse darauf hin, dass überhöhte Warenlager im ifo Konjunkturtest ein Indikator für zu schwache Nachfrage sind. Die Firmen sind gezwungen, korrigierende Maßnahmen zu ergreifen.
