Regierungsideologie und Studiengebühren in den deutschen Bundesländern

Abstract

Im Januar 2005 hat das Bundesverfassungsgericht den Bundesländern freigestellt, Studiengebühren zu erheben. Den Landesregierungen wurde somit ein bislang nicht verfügbares bildungspolitisches Instrument an die Hand gegeben. Im Rahmen eines solchen natürlichen Experiments lässt sich die in der Politischen Ökonomie bedeutsame Partisanenhypothese testen, inwieweit linke und rechte Regierungen unterschiedliche Politiken betreiben. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass nur rechte Landesregierungen Studiengebühren erhoben haben.
