Abstract

Während die Europäische Kommission die EU-Harmonisierung des Wettbewerbsrechts plant, läuft parallel in Deutschland die Diskussion zur Modernisierung des deutschen UWG (Gesetz gegen den unlauteren Wettbewerb). Einigkeit besteht über den Handlungsbedarf und darüber, dass Verbraucherinteressen auch im Wettbewerbsrecht eine größere Rolle spielen müssen. Prof. Dr. Edda Müller, Vorstand des Verbraucherzentrale Bundesverbands, kommentiert die Vorhaben und zeigt Möglichkeiten zur stärkeren Berücksichtigung des Verbraucherschutzes auf.
