Die langfristigen Auswirkungen von Hochschulgründungen auf lokale Löhne

Abstract

In diesem Beitrag untersuchen wir, ob und inwiefern Neugründungen von Hochschulen langfristig zu steigenden Löhnen in der betreffenden Region führen. Unsere Untersuchung zeigt, dass die Gründung einer Hochschule einen positiven Langzeiteffekt auf die Löhne in umliegenden Kreisen hat. Die Höhe der Lohneffekte variiert entlang der Lohnverteilung und zwischen verschiedenen Beschäftigungsgruppen. Zudem sind die regionalen Lohnsteigerungen im Wesentlichen auf die Gründung von Fachhochschulen sowie die Gründung von Hochschulen in städtischen Regionen zurückzuführen.
