Mindestlohn ohne Nebenwirkungen?

Abstract

Entgegen der landläufigen Meinung blieb die Einführung des Mindestlohns keineswegs ohne Nebenwirkungen. Der flächendeckende Mindestlohn hat den Beschäftigungsaufbau in Ostdeutschland nicht gestoppt, aber verlangsamt: Seit dem Beschluss des Mindestlohngesetzes durch den Deutschen Bundestag Mitte 2014 fällt die Beschäftigungsentwicklung in Ostdeutschland hinter jene Westdeutschlands zurück. Die amtlichen Beschäftigungsdaten deuten zudem darauf hin, dass in Ostdeutschland verstärkt nicht nur geringfügige, sondern auch Vollzeitbeschäftigungsverhältnisse in Teilzeitbeschäftigung umgewandelt wurden.
