Die Folgen der Industrieschwäche für die Binnenwirtschaft

Abstract

Die Corona-Krise hat die konjunkturelle Zweiteilung zwischen der Industrie und dem Dienstleistungsbereich beendet. Während sich die deutsche Industrie bereits seit Anfang 2018 in einer Rezession befand, zeigten sich die stärker binnenwirtschaftlich orientierten Bereiche sowie der Arbeitsmarkt in den Jahren 2018 und 2019 recht robust. Dieser Artikel zeigt, dass sich derZusammenhang zwischen Wertschöpfung und Beschäftigung in der Industrie im Vergleich zu früheren Industrierezessionen abgeschwächt hat. Eine Abkopplung des Arbeitsmarktes von der Industriekonjunktur ist aber nicht zu beobachten. So verschlechterte sich die Arbeitsmarktsituation im Jahr 2019 vor allem in Regionen mit einem hohen Anteil industrieller Wertschöpfung.Bei den unternehmensnahen Dienstleistungen war im Jahr 2019 ebenfalls eine spürbare wirtschaftliche Eintrübung festzustellen.
