Entwicklungsländer im Zeitalter im Zeitalter der Globalisierung: Regionale Trends und wirtschaftspolitische Empfehlungen

Abstract

Globalisierung ist ein häufig verwendetes Schlagwort, das bei vielen Menschen mit der Furcht vor Arbeitslosigkeit, wachsender Ungleichheit und sozialem Abstieg assoziiert wird. Verschiedentlich wird die Globalisierung sogar als Sündenbock für jegliche feststellbare Fehlentwicklung angeprangert; Erinnerungen an die Dependenzdebatte der 70er und 80er Jahre werden geweckt. Andere sehen in der Globalisierung hingegen die größte Chance der letzten Jahre, die Fortschritte der Menschheit bis in die entlegensten Winkel der Erde zu transportieren und allen Menschen zugute kommen zu lassen. Diese sich über das gesamte denkbare Spektrum zwischen Dämonisierung und Glorifizierung erstreckende Bewertung der Globalisierung ist Anlaß für den hier vorgenommenen Versuch, eine Bestandsaufnahme des aktuellen empirischen Phänomens 'Globalisierung' vorzunehmen und seine Wirkung speziell in bezug auf die Entwicklungsländer (einschließlich der Schwellen- und der Transformationsländer) zu untersuchen.
