Künstliche Intelligenz in Handwerk und Mittelstand: Ein Forschungsüberblick

Abstract

Welche Rolle kann künstliche Intelligenz im Handwerk spielen? Die vorliegende Publikation fasst die internationalen und nationalen Forschungsergebnisse für Handwerk und Mittelstand der vergangenen Jahre zusammen, sammelt Beispielanwendungen, beschreibt Hemmnisse und Erfolgsfaktoren und diskutiert die bestehenden Transferkanäle, um die künftige Rolle von KI im Handwerk zu beurteilen. Die Forschungsliteratur zeigt, dass die Einführung von KI-Anwendungen kleine und mittlere Unternehmen (KMU) grundsätzlich vor dieselben Herausforderungen stellt und mit denselben Struktureigenschaften umgehen muss, wie sie von der Digitalisierung schon bekannt sind. Die Herausforderung ist jedoch im KI-Bereich ungleich höher: Während grundsätzlich jeder Betrieb mit hohem Datenaufkommen für die Anwendung künstlicher Intelligenz geeignet ist, ist der Ressourcenaufwand einer eigenständigen Erstellung und Implementierung für Einzelbetriebe in der Regel. unrealistisch hoch und bislang tendenziell inkompatibel mit den Struktureigenschaften kleinerer KMU. Ein geeigneter Ansatzpunkt zur Änderung dieser Situation sind KI-Dienstleistungen, die auf Basis von branchenspezifischen Datenpools entwickelt werden. Dadurch können überbetriebliche Daten spezifischer Anwendungsfelder Forschungseinrichtungen zur Verfügung gestellt werden. Diesen wird dadurch ermöglicht, spezifische KI- Anwendungen zu erstellen und über Neugründungen zu kommerzialisieren. Auf diesem Wege kann künstliche Intelligenz in spezifischen Anwendungsfeldern als Dienst- leistung für die Betriebe eines Handwerkszweiges als allgemein nutzbares Produkt zur Verfügung gestellt werden. Um diesen Transferkanal zu etablieren, können Handwerks- und Mittelstandspolitik dafür im Vorfeld Datenverbünde organisieren, um hiermit Verbindungen zur KI-Forschung herzustellen und nach Entwicklung niedrigschwellig anwendbarer Produkte die KMU und Handwerksbetriebe bei der Nutzung und Verbreitung der so entstehenden KI- Dienstleistungen im Handwerk unterstützen.
