Pobreza y discriminación salarial por razón de género en España

Abstract

Usando datos del PHOGUE, los autores analizan los efectos de la brecha salarial por razón de género en la distribución de la renta de los hogares en España. El procedimiento empírico consta de tres fases. En primer lugar, se estima la brecha salarial individual para cada mujer trabajadora. A continuación, se genera una distribución contrafactual de la renta de los hogares incorporando el hipotético salario sin discriminación de las mujeres trabajadoras a la renta del hogar al que pertenecen. Finalmente, se comparan los niveles de pobreza y desigualdad de la distribución de la renta observada y de la contrafactual.
