Abstract

Ce travail de recherche vise à appréhender l'impact des syndicats de salariés sur les performances des entreprises françaises, en utilisant les données issues des enquêtes REPONSE 1998 et 2004. Ce travail a l'ambition d'apporter un éclairage sur un sujet encore peu abordé en France. Les aspects des relations de travail susceptibles d'influencer la performance de l'organisation incluent la présence syndicale mais ne s'y limitent pas : l'identité des syndicats et la nature de la représentation des salariés semblent également jouer un rôle prépondérant. Concernant la performance, celle-ci représente un concept polysémique difficile à cerner. Il convient, toutefois, de préciser que les critères utilisés pour évaluer la performance des entreprises dans cette étude relèvent essentiellement de la conception économique de la performance. Ce travail présente, par ailleurs, la particularité de porter sur des entreprises dont les résultats économiques ont été évalués à partir de données comptables et financières (ratios de rentabilité économique, rentabilité financière, etc.), mais également à partir d'indicateurs qualitatifs de performance, au travers de la mesure de performance perçue par l'employeur.
