Abstract

L'objectif de cette communication est de proposer un outil de mesure des bénéfices du commerce équitable (CE) auprès des populations locales à l'aide d'une enquête sur l'intention de rester vivre sur son territoire chez les jeunes. Le modèle théorique utilisé est celui de la théorie du comportement planifié (TCP) augmentée de l'attachement au territoire et des regrets anticipés. Dans un premier temps, une enquête qualitative a été menée auprès de 20 jeunes camerounais sur une zone rurale peu favorisée. Une enquête quantitative a ensuite été réalisée auprès de jeunes français (n= 353) afin de valider le modèle ; ceci après une adaptation du questionnaire au contexte français. Les analyses factorielles confirmatoires montrent une très bonne qualité d'ajustement du modèle. Les équations structurelles permettent, au final, de valider le modèle sauf sur la perception de contrôle sur le comportement et les normes descriptives. L'attachement au territoire et les regrets anticipés prennent une place significative dans l'explication de l'intention. Nous concluons sur des pistes de recherches et des solutions visant à mesurer de façon plus systématique les bénéfices communautaires du CE et de projets de revitalisation des zones rurales en général, à les optimiser et à permettre une meilleure participation citoyenne au nord comme au sud.
