Abstract

This article aims to present the theoretical outlines of the theory of social practices (TPS), its heuristic scope for the field of marketing as well as its limitations. At the confluence of sociological, philosophical and anthropological theories, the GST has been particularly interested in the consumer practices it has studied moving away from cognitive and cultural conceptualizations. It proposes to study consumption in its active dimension by focusing essentially on «doing».
