Impact of a grain price cut on income of crop farms : an extented partial equilibrium approach

Abstract

L'impact d'une baisse du prix des céréales sur le revenu des producteurs spécialisés dépend en premier lieu du concept de revenu retenu et de la part de produit céréales dans ce revenu. Ainsi, dans le cas des producteurs spécialisés français (OTEX 11), l'impact d'une baisse de prix de 10% sur le surplus (mesure "statique" du revenu) est égal à-24%. Cet effet direct est atténue par les effets indirects ou effets induits (baisse du cout de la terre, baisse des prix de inputs variables). Enfin les effets tendanciels (progrès technique, effets structures) doivent être pris en compte. Au total, trois années seulement sont nécessaires pour annuler l'effet d'une baisse de 10% sur le revenu par tête : en d'autre termes, une baisse de prix de 3% est compatible avec un maintien du revenu des facteurs familiaux.
