Logique d’action du dirigeant et engagement RSE global en PME

Abstract

Les PME représentent une large proportion du tissu industriel et ont un impact substantiel tant sur le niveau économique, que social et environnemental (Munteanu, 2014). Ce type d'entreprises se trouve aujourd'hui de plus en plus sollicité pour adopter un comportement responsable et est amené à évaluer et à réduire les conséquences de ses décisions et activités sur la société et l'environnement (ISO 26000, 2010). Dans ce contexte, la littérature croissante sur le thème de la responsabilité sociale des PME démontre une progression relative dans leur appropriation de démarches responsables dans leurs stratégies (Perrini et al., 2007). Cependant, cette littérature demeure fragmentée et n'a pas réussi à fournir une perspective d'action adaptée aux PME (Russo et Perrini, 2010). Nous relevons un flou autour de la nature et l'intensité de leurs pratiques sociétales et plus particulièrement des liens et de l'articulation entre les différentes dimensions de la RSE. En effet, malgré un contexte marqué par l'intérêt croissant des chercheurs académiques et des experts à l'approche multi-parties prenantes de la norme ISO 26000 (Sitnikov et Bocean, 2012), peu de recherches ont tenté de comprendre ce qui favorise le passage vers un engagement envers les différents volets de la RSE, en particulier dans le cadre de pays du sud où un effort supplémentaire reste à fournir aussi bien sur le plan scientifique pour mieux analyser les comportements existants, qu'institutionnel pour promouvoir la RSE dans le champ des PME (Spence et al., 2011). En partant de ces constats, notre recherche tente de comprendre les logiques d'action des dirigeants de PME qui favorisent un engagement RSE envers plusieurs parties prenantes. Ce travail s'inscrit dans une démarche exploratoire à visée compréhensive reposant sur une étude de cas d'une PME avec un engagement RSE global. A partir du cadre théorique des logiques d'action, cette recherche tend à révéler que les dimensions expliquant les choix du dirigeant pour un engagement RSE global sont relatives aussi bien à l'acteur qu'à sa situation d'action. Dans ce sens, la mise en acte de cette logique d'action semble s'organiser principalement autour d'une dimension social-historique du dirigeant favorisant une sensibilité envers la responsabilité sociale qui rencontre un contexte historique et institutionnel propice. L'analyse des différents mobiles qui ont animé l'engagement de la PME nous permet de conclure qu'une logique d'action entrepreneuriale (Julien et Marchesnay, 1996) pourrait être propice à une RSE globale.
