Abstract

Cet article intègre la question environnementale à l’étude de secteurs caractérisés par des producteurs de bien vierge avec un pouvoir de marché, confrontés à un secteur du recyclage. On utilise un modèle où la production de bien vierge par un monopole est polluante, contrairement à la production de bien secondaire. Taxer le monopole permet de réduire la pollution, au prix d’une réduction de la quantité totale de bien. L’effet d’une subvention au recyclage dépend de la pente de la courbe de demande. Il est ambigu en termes de bien-être, même s’il encourage toujours le recyclage.
