Analyse der Bestandsentwicklung landwirtschafticher Familienarbeitskrafte in Westdeutschland

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to identify the explanatory variables of the changes of family labour in West German agriculture over the last thirty years. Labour stocks are distinguished into full and part time labour for both sexes separately. Demographic influences imply quasi autonomous changes of labour stocks which are quantified using cohort analysis. The rates of change exceeding this quasi autonomous component are regressed on explanatory variables. The most significant influence is found for the expected incomes in agriculture, the opportunity costs of family labour and general labour market conditions. Ziel der Analyse ist es, die Bestimmungsgrunde der Bestandsentwicklung landwirtschaftlicher Familienarbeitskrafte in Westdeutschland und deren Einfluss in den letzten dreissig Jahren darzustellen. Dabei erfolgt eine differenzierte Betrachtung fur voll- und teilbeschaftigte sowie mannliche und weibliche Arbeitskrafte. Demographische Einflusse fuhren zu einer quasi autonom ablaufenden Bestandsanderung, die im Rahmen einer Kohortenanalyse quantifiziert werden kann. Anschliessend wird versucht, die uber die demographische Komponente hinaus gehenden Anderungsraten in Abhangigkeit bestimmter Erklarungsvariablen okonometrisch zu schatzen. Als statistisch signifikant erweist sich dabei vor allem der Einfluss der erwarteten landwirtschaftlichen Einkommen, der Opportunitatskosten landwirtschaftlicher Erwerbstatigkeit und der ausserlandwirtschaftlichen Arbeitsmarktlage.
