Analyse des facteurs sources d’adoption de nouvelles technologies rizicoles : une estimation de la réponse de l’offre en Afrique de l’Ouest

Abstract

L’objectif de ce travail est de comprendre les facteurs qui influencent la décision d’adoption des technologies nouvelles dans la production de riz. En particulier, dans certains pays de la région Ouest Africaine où des nouvelles variétés sont offertes. Cet article considère que les modèles d’adoption technologique sont influencés par les décisions d’allocation de la terre entre les cultures. Mais aussi par les contraintes liées aux marchés de la nouvelle technologie, quelles soient d’ordres institutionnelles ou sociales. Des données de panel ont été utilisé pour estimer les coefficients montrant l’impact des variables clés à l’adoption pour les variétés améliorées de riz dans les pays tels la Cote d’Ivoire, le Mali, le Benin le Sénégal le Ghana...les principaux résultats indiquent que les services de vulgarisation et d’appui conseils agricoles influence plus l’adoption des nouvelles technologies rizicoles que le prix. -- The objective of this work is to understand the factors that influence the decision to adopt the new technologies in rice production. Particularly, in some countries of West African region were new varieties are available. This article considers that technology adoption patterns are influenced by the decisions of allocation of land between cultures. But also by the constraints of the new technology markets, be they institutional or social orders. Panel data were used to estimate the coefficients showing the impact of key variables to adopt for improved rice varieties in countries such as Cote d'Ivoire , Mali, Senegal, Benin Ghana ... The main results indicate that agricultural extension services influences more adoption of new rice technologies than price.
